Compared to the Ziploc brand, MagicBag is a thicker plastic. Also, the chain to hang the hangers is metal instead of plastic. That makes hanging a heavy winter coat much safer. Also, the two-tone zipper easily clues one in to when the bag is properly sealed. The one detriment is the suction portal. Most other vacuum bags have a removable cap over the valve. This one does not. The vacuum hose has to fit over the opening or there will be no suction. My 20-year-old Dirt Devil's hose has a very small diameter; it barely fits over the opening. Therefore, I have to spend extra time keeping the hose aligned. For this, the product loses one star. It is, though, a BIG improvement over Ziploc.Perfect!I was able to fit 5 winter coats in ONE of these bags! It saves so much space. I am giving it 4 stars because the 2nd bag I used filled with air shortly after. There must be some hole somewhere.I used these bags for my winter coats . Now I have more room in my closetI needed to store fall/winter ware as well as suits that I only use on a few occasion. Folding them puts creases in the long items. Leaving tehm hanging in closet also allows dust and, if wool, moths to get at them. Storing them with mothballs give items that terrible smell. Now I can hang below the knees winter coat with cedar plank.Got these to store church Christmas costumes. Love the long lengths. I use these for home storage and decided they would be excellent to store costumes at the church that are used once a year. Others were surprised at how much storage space is saved by using these.Great for sessonal storageI have been using a different product called SpaceBags for years to store my off season clothing. I needed a few more bags this past spring, and decided to try this MagicBag. It is nowhere near the quality of the SpaceBags I had been using. I loaded it with the same number of clothing pieces and weight as I did with the old SpaceBags and put it into storage. When I came back this fall to get the winter clothes out of storage, BOTH of the hanging hooks on the MagicBags had broken and the bag with the clothes was in a heap on the floor. NONE of the 8 other SpaceBags (different brand) were broken. THis is only useful if you want to only put a very few items in of very light weight. I would not buy this again. I reached out to the seller to ask if they would replace the bags (and sent a photo), but they did not bother to reply.
